The IPEC Foundation has always been committed to establishing cooperative relationships with companies and institutions in the port sector to combine efforts in achieving its goals. Currently, the activities carried out in this area can be divided as follows:
– Granting of scholarships and aid for study and research.
– Organization of promotional and awareness-raising activities on topics of port interest.
– Collaboration in technical working groups, both at the national and international levels.
– Participation in the management and development of transnational projects and support for developing countries.
Technical and scientific cooperation with national and international entities is largely implemented through scholarship and research grant programs. This is the case with the scholarships offered for the Master's Degree in Port Management and Intermodal Transport, provided through prestigious institutions such as the OAS (Organization of American States) and the IMMTA (International Multimodal Transport Association).
The aforementioned line of educational cooperation is complemented by the offer of internships and scholarships for study and research, offered to university students and technicians, in collaboration with other Spanish entities (CIERVAL, ADEIT, UPV) or international associations, such as UNCTAD, and through the scholarship program of the State Ports Authority, for Ibero-American technicians who join projects in the different areas in which the IPEC Foundation works.
In this same vein, it continuously collaborates in the organization of conferences, workshops, specialized seminars, and technical meetings focused on transportation-related topics. These events aim to delve deeper into current issues of interest to the sector and are often offered to the technical and management teams involved in projects developed with other national and international entities. Of particular note are the Ecoport Valencia 2000 Conference on the Environment in Ports and the Conference on Information Technologies in Ports.
At the European level, the IPEC Foundation's involvement is steadily increasing in numerous projects funded by the European Union, within the framework of the Fifth Framework Programme and programs such as LIFE, INTERREG, LEONARDO, and ASIA-URBS, in collaboration with several European ports. Furthermore, its participation in the European Economic Interest Groupings EUROMAR, dedicated to the promotion and development of information technologies in ports and the transport system, and EUROPHAR, focused on developing an advanced model for environmental management and comprehensive security in ports, has grown, with the Foundation assuming management of the latter last year.
Technical and scientific cooperation with entities in Latin America, such as Port Authorities, COCATRAM (Central American Commission for Maritime Transport) and the OAS, through collaborations with the CIP (Inter-American Committee on Ports) and the AICD (Inter-American Agency for Cooperation and Development) has resulted in the launch of the Med-Mex Maritime Corridor study, whose purpose is to promote trade relations between Central America and the European Union with Spain as the gateway.

A growing and more active presence at a technical level in forums of technological, university and professional interest, in Spain, Europe and Latin America.
Constant monitoring of European policies on ports, maritime and intermodal transport and all related areas (environment, security, new technologies).
Currently, the IPEC Foundation maintains cooperative ties with countries as diverse and geographically distant as Mexico, France, and Vietnam. Given this situation, the framework can only expand, establishing the Foundation as an international benchmark for the port sector, to the benefit of the industry it represents.
