In its fruitful international career, the company has had the support of Extenda-Andalucía Exportation and Foreign Investment since its first steps.
El Andalusian foreign sector has demonstrated its competitiveness as an engine of economic growth. Andalucía is second exporting community in Spain, with international sales of 11.025 million euros in the first quarter of 2021, 9,6% more than in the same period of 2020 and a record trade surplus of 2.081 million euros.
Internationally successful Andalusian companies such as daplast, the company from Córdoba that has managed to become a benchmark in the field of manufacturing seats and stands for sports facilities.
The history of this company located in Cordoba It is a story of opportunities. His founder, Rafael Pérez Esparza, was a pioneer in the agricultural packaging business, introducing for the first time plastic boxes for collecting and transporting tomatoes in Almeria in the 70s. An activity that allowed the company to grow and consolidate in the national market.
However, far from settling in, in the 80s it once again opted for a new business niche, that of plastic seats and stands, with which it diversified its activity, and which today accounts for most of its turnover.
Since then, it has supplied and installed more than three million seats in more than 2.000 venues, from small halls to large sports stadiums, spread across five continents. “Little by little, we managed to consolidate a network of clients and distributors and improved awareness of the brand internationally. Since 2000, we have experienced gradual growth and today more than 50% of sales are international,” he explains. Rafael Pérez Esparza, son of the founder of the firm and today general director of Daplast.
Most First and Second Division football clubs in Spain have their products in their facilities. “Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Sevilla FC, Real Betis”, says Pérez Esparza, who confirms as one of his main international projects “the Paris Saint Germain Princes Park, our most important reference abroad.”
But the company has no roof and has just opened up to the Greek market, with the remodeling project of the stadium of the AEK Athens, one of the main European clubs, which joins another recent project, the remodeling of the French Metz stadium. In addition, the company also works for public administrations, private companies, construction companies and architecture and engineering studios.
In this fruitful international career, he has had the support of Extenda-Andalusia Export and Foreign Investment from his first steps. “We have collaborated with Extenda since the beginning of our export activity, attending fairs and trade missions. And, above all, with consulting services on Brand Advice and analysis of specific markets,” says Pérez Esparza. “For this reason, without a doubt, I would recommend it to any businessman, especially in the phase of starting export activity or opening a new market,” continues the general director of the Córdoba firm.
Its future plans now involve improving its product and service offering to cover a greater typology of venues. “In addition, we have two important challenges: sustainability, helping our clients make more sustainable facilities; and, on the other, digitalization, as a tool to improve the company's processes," he concludes. Perez Esparza.
