The Spanish multinational Global Energy Services (GES), specialized in the development and construction of infrastructure for renewable energy, has announced the award of a contract for the construction of a large-scale hybrid project in ChileThis project is not only the largest in the company's history, but is also positioned as one of the most emblematic in the energy sector. Latin AmericaThe facility, which combines wind, photovoltaic and battery storage (BESS), will exceed the 695 MW of total power.
This new achievement underlines the internationalization strategy of GES, which since 2013 has maintained a solid presence in Chile, a key market where it has already built 1.178 MW in wind and solar projectsThe company has expressed interest in further expanding its global footprint, exploring opportunities in countries such as Romania, Portugal and various Central American nations, with the aim of diversifying its portfolio and consolidating its leadership.
The facility, which integrates three renewable technologies in a single location, becomes a benchmark for innovation and sustainability on a global scale.
José Luis García Donoso, CEO of GES, highlighted the strategic importance of the project: "The combination of three renewable technologies in a single facility sets the course for the sector in the short term. Furthermore, it will be the plant with the largest storage capacity in all of Latin America to date."García Donoso added that this contract allows the company "To fully deploy our added value in engineering and construction, consolidating the role of Spanish companies in high-potential international markets such as Chile.".
The company will be responsible for the engineering, construction and commissioning of the project, a role that reinforces its position as strategic partner in the execution of comprehensive, large-scale solutions. The awarding of this contract also marks the 400th project that GES has executed since its founding, a figure that demonstrates the company's vast experience and track record in the sector. This project also aligns with one of GES's key objectives for the coming years: to diversify its activities toward new technologies, with a strong focus on energy storage.
