The European School of Short Sea Shipping presents the course 'Groupage & Consolidation Centres'

[Img # 22421]La European School of Short Sea Shipping (2E3S.EU) presented on March 16, 'Groupage & Consolidation Centres', its new specific training course on groupage and consolidation for professionals.

 

At the presentation, which took place at the headquarters of the School, its director participated, Eduard Rodés; the head of International Relations and Promotion of the Port of Barcelona, Manel Galan; the director of Grupo Romeu; Ernesto Romeu; the president of ATEIA-OLTRA, Emilio Sanz; and the director of IFS International Forwarding, Pablo Auger.

 

This 4-day course, whose first edition will begin on April 24, has been designed for different profiles: freight forwarders, neutral consolidators, maritime agents, shipping companies, logistics operators, shippers, transporters and also public administrations of the transport sector.

 

The course is organized by 2E3S.EU and has the participation of various companies in the sector: Globelink Uniexco, Grupo Romeu, NCL, IFS, Ibercondor and Tm2. Likewise, it receives the support of the Port de Barcelona and ATEIA-OLTRA.

 

The maritime groupage sector is highly specialized, so until now, training has been provided internally by the companies themselves. The course 'Groupage & Consolidation Centers' is an innovative bet since, with an eminently practical approach, it will offer a 360º vision of the intermodal logistics, its actors, roles, market segmentation and development trends.

 

Door-to-door operations

 

The main objective of the course is to provide professionals from consolidation companies, or companies looking to enter this sector, with all the necessary knowledge to improve transport management in door-to-door operations. To this end, existing infrastructure and equipment will be demonstrated, and step-by-step examples of consolidation operations will be explained.

 

The content has been developed to cover all aspects of consolidation operations and all the players involved: intermodal groupage; infrastructure and equipment at consolidation centers; procedures. import Export and quality control. A series of visits to infrastructure and companies will complement the training: neutral consolidator warehouses, container terminals, and consolidation warehouses for land transport.

 

'Groupage & Consolidation Centres' It is the first of a new batch of technical courses that represent the innovative training approach of 2E3S.EU. The next course, aimed at temperature-controlled transportation professionals, will be scheduled for June.
