The globalization of markets and the elimination of trade barriers have transformed logistics into a strategic activity within business management. Aware of this, the ICIL Foundation contributes to promoting business competitiveness through its outreach and research efforts.
The ICIL Foundation was created under the sponsorship of the Catalan Institute of Logistics with the support of companies and institutions that have made the center a national reference within the logistics scene.
Its primary purpose is to serve as a tool for developing the logistics function, establishing it as a fundamental element for improving the effectiveness of techniques and methods for integrated business management. Furthermore, the Foundation becomes a meeting point for professionals in the sector, providing advisory services and bringing together all the interests and projects of companies and institutions within the logistics field.
It also offers training programs that impart the knowledge and habits essential for optimizing work performance within the company. In this context, at the senior management level, master's programs are offered that delve into scientific foundations. These programs are aimed at executives, managers, and professionals in the sector who seek comprehensive and more detailed training.
The Specialization Programs introduce new logistics techniques and contain an important practical foundation.
Shorter-term Management Programs are offered, focusing primarily on logistics procedures and aiming to equip students to manage all areas involved in the movement of goods. Finally, Basic Programs serve as an introduction to the field of logistics, providing an overview of its functions, management, and scope.
As supplementary training, Professional Development Programs are organized that last for one academic year.
Given the growing demand recorded in recent years, the ICIL Foundation has launched a virtual campus, through which it will be possible to carry out blended or distance learning courses.
In addition, the organization maintains a significant collection of national and international publications, providing access to all types of logistical information. Along with the library, the Foundation offers an online platform for users to conduct research from home.
The primary source of training and advisory activities is R&D. In fact, the Foundation has a research and development department, supported by a team of experts, which develops new tools to address the future challenges of the logistics world.
Disseminating information about logistics and its advancements is another objective of the center, which is carried out through a comprehensive program of activities: seminars, company visits, technical workshops, conferences, forums and discussion dinners.
Finally, it is worth mentioning the Professional Development Service promoted by the ICIL Foundation, which guides industry professionals to improve their employment situation or to find their first job.
