Exports of live flowers and plants in Spain grow by 15% until July and are on display at Iberflora 2024

 

La Spanish export of flowers and live plants has experienced a remarkable growth of 15% until July 2024, reaching 477 million euros, compared to the same period of the previous year. This positive sectoral progress is reflected in Iberflora, the International Fair of Plants and Flowers, Landscaping, Technology and DIY Garden, which opens today in Valencia and will run until October 3.

 

The live plant continues to drive the growth of sectoral exports, with a year-on-year increase up to July of 13% reaching 386 million euros, with the outdoor plant being the most sold

 

The main driver of this growth has been the export of live plants, which has increased by 13%, reaching 386 million euros. Among the best-selling products, outdoor plants stand out, generating 194 million euros, representing an increase of 16%. Next in line are trees and shrubs with 81 million euros (+13%) and indoor plants, which grew by 7%, reaching 66 million euros.

 

Furthermore, the Cut flower exports have shown a growth of 28%, totalling 53,1 million euros in the period analysed. Foliage has also experienced a rise of 26%, with 31,4 million euros, while bulbs have registered a fall of 5%, standing at 6,1 million euros.
