La Spanish export of live flowers and plants has shown remarkable stability in the first half of 2025, reaching 452 millones de euros, which represents an increase of 1% compared to the same period last year.
Living plants and their contrasts
The main category of the sector, the living plant, remained virtually unchanged, with exports worth 363,8 millones de eurosHowever, very different behaviors were observed within this group.
They highlighted positively the trees and shrubs, whose foreign sales grew significantly 19,54 %, adding up 88,9 millones de euros. Imports on the rise and a dynamic market
As for imports, the downward trend of 2024 was reversed. The purchase of living plant from abroad rose a 10,79 %, surpassing the 100 millones de euros. Similarly, the importation of cut flower a shot was fired 23,23 %, totalizing 93,8 millones de euros.
This dynamism in both exports and imports reflects a robust market with opportunities for Spanish production companies. Despite a slight slowdown in the growth rate, the sector maintains the levels reached in 2024, indicating stability and maturity in its foreign trade.
