La Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) has organized in the Cádiz Congress Palace a new edition of its digitalization workshops applied to the wine sector, which has had the participation of several companies from the Digitalization and Wine HUB who leads the Federation. These sessions have been held within the program of parallel activities of the 44th OIV World Vine and Wine Congress, which takes place from June 5 to 9 between Cadiz and Jerez de la Frontera, and which is dedicated this year to 'Winemaking and information technologies'.
The main objective of the workshops was to offer a comprehensive vision of the opportunities and benefits that digitalization can bring to the wine sector through real cases, promoting innovation and sustainable growth and demonstrating how digitalization can optimize management, improve productivity and streamline processes in different phases of the wine making and marketing process.
The FEV also participated in one of the inaugural presentations of the Congress on the impact of new technologies in today's society and also in the global wine sector, with special focus on the rise of artificial intelligence systems
Among the topics addressed, the monitoring and prediction of the key agronomic variables of the vineyard, the use of technology applied in real winery cases, the improvement of productivity in real time in bottling lines, the impact and viability of a system stand out. of glass bottle reuse in the sector, the use of data in management platforms and wine tourism reservations or the benefits of RFID in the beverage and wine market.
Each of the workshops has been taught by one of the technology companies that make up the Digitalization and Wine HUB that the FEV promoted in 2020 to promote and facilitate this digital transformation for companies and accompany them in this process. On this occasion, the participating entities have been UAV Enterprise Project, Arsys, ASM Soft, Minsait, JIG and Checkpoint Systems. This is the second time that the FEV organizes these workshops, after the success of the first edition that took place last November in Logroño during the Wine Next Generation conference, organized by the FEV and the Digitalization and Wine HUB.
In addition to organizing these workshops, the FEV also participated in one of the inaugural presentations of the Congress on the impact of new technologies on today's society and also on the global wine sector, with special focus on the rise of artificial intelligence systems. Beatriz Sanz Saiz, Global Data and AI Leader at EY, He called on companies to take advantage of the historic opportunities that artificial intelligence offers them to boost their productivity. Later, in conversation with the general director of the FEV, José Luis Benítez, they focused on the impact that these new applications will have for the global wine sector on issues as important as work in the vineyard, marketing or logistics.
