Valencia has been the epicenter of the educational innovation, upon receiving the Valenciaport Foundation to 122 students of the Higher Degree in International Trade, En of fourth edition of the logistics-port specialization. This program, which is already a benchmark in the field, has managed to consolidate itself thanks to a strong collaboration between the Valenciaport Foundation, four prominent public institutes in Valencia —Pere Boïl, Grao, Ausiàs March and Mislata-, the General Directorate of Vocational Training of the Generalitat Valenciana, the Port Authority of Valencia (APV) and the Propeller Valencia association.
During this edition, students will benefit from a 80-hour intensive training, divided into three fundamental modules. Thirty hours will be devoted to the port management, another thirty to the international trade document management, using an advanced simulator that reproduces real business situations, and the final twenty hours will focus on the specialized English for the sector.
The first sessions, held between June 10 and 12, focused on the initial 30 hours of port management. Ana Rumbeu, director of Formation of the Valenciaport Foundation, welcomed the students, marking the beginning of a deep learning process. The modules of Port Operations and New Trends were taught by Alexandre SanchezResponsible for APV PCS SystemsWhile José Martín RoblesAPV's Communications Officer was in charge of the module "Ports: Physical space, legal framework and governance", and also accompanied the young people on their visit to Port of Valencia.
This innovative project, which was conceived in 2019, was born from a concern of Propeller Valencia, which detected the need to improve preparation specific to students seeking to enter the sector. Since then, the Valenciaport Foundation has taken the lead, leading the development of specialized content, the training of both students and teachers, and the creation of practical tools such as simulators and gamification dynamics. These tools not only enrich the learning experience, but also reinforce the acquisition of knowledge, preparing students for the challenges of international Business.
