Customs Clearance Management at the Vigo Free Trade Zone Consortium

Simplifying the procedures for handling the entry and exit of goods in the free trade zone has always been a key objective of the Vigo Free Trade Zone Consortium's management. Therefore, to leverage the advantages of new technologies applied to processing, and to integrate and standardize the documentation used by suppliers, agents, and operators, a document management and record system for entry and exit movements in free trade zone warehouses was implemented in 2002 by Customs and the Vigo Consortium.
The program that was designed allows the submission of entry and exit documentation via the Internet and avoids the physical presence of operators in customs offices, unless they are expressly required by the officials responsible for the service.

The application has been developed for internet access (via ISP) to allow users to complete any procedure or inquiry from anywhere in the world, provided they have the access code and comply with the established security measures. Special attention has been paid to the application's security, incorporating the best available systems on the network to guarantee confidentiality and ease of use.

Facilitating faster, more agile and simpler operations, as well as improving access to and quality of information for both operators and customs, has been the ultimate goal of this project.
