The Spanish railway industry has headed back to the Middle East

Strengthens business relationships and seeks to collaborate on infrastructure investments

The Spanish Railway Industry Association (Mafex) has coordinated the group participation of ten companies in the Middle East Rail fair – congress, which took place in Abu Dhabi, between May 15 and 16, 2023.

Companies such as Acygs, Aquafrisch, Caf, Danobat, Imathia, Indra, Ineco, Patentes Talgo, Renfe, Sener, SGS and Typsa. Achieving positioning and seeking new opportunities are two of the main objectives of the Spanish companies, which already appear as a technological reference in the countries of the area, where they have already contributed their solutions in the main projects of recent years.

United Arab Emirates, With the help of Etihad Rail, has committed to reactivating rail transport of passengers and goods not only in the country but in the region, with urban transport projects, such as the tram Abu Dhabi, the high-speed line that will connect Dubai and Abi Dhabi, or the ambitious project led by the organization GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), which aims to build a railway network of more than 2.000 kilometers that connects the six Arab countries of the Gulf: Arabia, Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. This project alone will cost more than 20 billion euros.

For this reason, and with a participation of more than 6.000 attendees and more than 300 exhibitors, for Mafex, attendance at Middle East Rail represents an ideal platform to publicize new Spanish technologies and establish contacts with the main actors shaping the future. of transportation in this market.
