Industry and venture capital conference
The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism and ASCRI have organised a meeting on the possibilities offered by venture capital in the financing of the industrial sector in Spain. The aim was to demystify some erroneous ideas and present the opportunities of this instrument for the Spanish industry.
During the day, experts in this type of companies and businesses that have developed their business using this tool have shared their experience, agreeing on the advantage that venture capital represents for accessing other markets and increase international turnover.
During 2014 the volume of Your Strategic carried out by venture capital funds amounted to 3.465 billion euros spread over 580 operations, i.e. a 45% growth in volume for the same number of operations, compared to the activity in 2013. Investments in industrial products and services accounted for 13,8% of the total, with 11,2% in the number of operations, relevant percentages but which indicate that there is still a long way to go.
During the day it was also made clear that venture capital manages smart money to accelerate the growth of companies to be able to compete in the global marketsHaving venture capital means the entry of professional partners, which causes an immediate improvement in everything related to good governance practices, which in turn imply a great generation of value.
