The Association for the Development of Logistics (ADL) organized the second edition of its cycle of professional meetings.

These meetings serve to bring together professionals from the sector and analyze the present and future of logistics. ADL proposes these initiatives in order to share a wide range of impressions and be able to share experiences that help enrich the sector.
In the first of the organized tables, the relevance of intermodality was put on the table. This first table was formed Vicente Palomo (Mediterranean Corridor Office), Pedro Catalan (CSP Logitren) and Bruno Lopez (MEDLOG) and were moderated by Juan Manuel Diez (Port Authority of Valencia). They showed their common concern for current infrastructure. Given this reality, it was reported that work is being done on railway lines that will entail cuts in the next 2 years. This is a necessary evil to be able to reach the desired Mediterranean corridor in 2026.
Roberto Arocas (DACHSER), Javier Inchauspe (Scannel Properties) and Sergio Acera (Power Electronics) were moderated by Jesús Fajardo (TRIANGLE Real Estate Management) in the second table with real estate logistics as the central topic. Land is scarce and Valencia is a very attractive logistics hub. This is another of the current concerns of the sector.
After a break, the third round table was held, in which the importance of innovation in new automated logistics infrastructures was discussed in depth. On this topic they discussed Jose Antonio Ortega (SCANNELL Properties), Santiago López (Port Authority of Valencia), Javier Roncero (IBM), Cesar Gonzalez (Reflex Logistics), Jose Luis Fernandez (SYSTEM Logistics Spain SLU), and Victor García-Vaquero (Noken Porcelanosa Group) moderated by Aida Nunez (ASPOR Engineering). They agreed on the importance of implementing new technologies in order to optimize the logistics task. This progress should always go hand in hand with a commitment to sustainability. This represents the main axis on which we will work in the next 2 years.
The balance of this day is very positive for Pablo Boix, President of ADL, who states that “it has been a success with attendance with almost 300 people, the level of the speakers contributes to many people coming and people have been interested in the topics raised.” Currently he considers that "thanks to the Port of Valencia, logistics in the Valencian Community is a very powerful sector" and that "we have very good news in the medium term when the Mediterranean Corridor is finished."
ADL is a non-profit Association that was founded in 1992 and already has more than 500 members. There are many significant Spanish, institutional and professional companies that belong to this association. ADL aims to transmit knowledge by launching logistical and training activities. In this way, they promote business relationships and networking among associates. With its work and daily effort it seeks to become a logistics benchmark at a national and international level, contributing to the development of the sector.
