ING is a global financial institution of Dutch origin, created from the merger of the Netherlands' leading insurance company, ING Nationale Nederlanden, and one of its major commercial banks, NMB Postbank Group, making it one of the world's top-performing financial institutions. The ING Group's business is centered around three main areas: insurance, banking, and asset management. The ING Group also has a presence in 65 countries.
ING's global network, with a presence in both developed and emerging markets across five continents, is a key tool for developing an activity where ING specializes: export financing.
The ING Group has a team of specialists, more than 50 professionals in Spain, to structure export financing operations, with a high degree of knowledge of the main export credit agencies (ECAs), spread across the twelve most important markets: New York, Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Prague, Warsaw, Seoul and Tokyo.
The Export Finance team supports its clients in:
– Obtaining financing for the acquisition of capital goods or for the development of investment projects.
– Seeking solutions to mitigate the political and commercial risks related to export projects.
– Structuring tailor-made projects to mitigate cross-border risk by relying on different mechanisms: documentary credit, confirmations, off-take agreements, private insurance, co-financing with multilateral agencies, etc.
We have proven experience in structuring and financing export and account projects, as well as more complex transactions such as project finance, supported by product specialists in the areas of natural resources, water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, transport, and logistics. Furthermore, ING is one of the most active banks in structuring and participating in co-financing with multilateral agencies such as IFC, ADB, MIGA, CAF, EIB, and EBRD.
ING has a significant local presence in importing countries, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe: Bulgaria, Slovenia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, and Ukraine. This facilitates a deeper understanding of the market and allows for localized handling of transactions. Furthermore, we have an extensive network of correspondent banks and framework agreements, along with a willingness to absorb country risk—key tools for exporters.
In a globalized environment, an increasing number of projects are carried out in consortium with companies from different countries; ING's multinational presence facilitates the structuring, implementation, and development of these projects.
