La Sepulvedana expands in Colombia with the financial support of COFIDES

The amount is 524.147 euros

Through an ordinary loan from COFIDES' own resources.

The Spanish Development Financing Company, COFIDES, SA will finance The Sepulvedana for the acquisition of 51% of a transport company and the investment in buses in Colombia.

The project will be financed through a standard loan from COFIDES ' own resources for €524.147, which, together with the promoter's contribution, amounts to €873.579. This is the company's first venture in Latin America and the first project it has undertaken with financial support from COFIDES.

La Sepulvedana's main activity is the operation of intercity road transport services, holding the Madrid-Segovia concession since 1989.

Following the signing of the agreement, COFIDES President Salvador Marín highlighted the group's strong export performance, which began its international expansion in Morocco in 2005. "We are pleased to be able to contribute to the international expansion of a company with such a long and successful history as La Sepulvedana, and we hope to continue supporting its internationalization process in the future, thus helping to strengthen its parent company in Spain."

For his part, Rafael Fernández de la Peña , CEO of La Sepulvedana , highlighted the importance of COFIDES' work for companies whose strategy includes internationalization as a driver of growth. “For La Sepulvedana, it is vital to have support that allows us to transfer our know-how, based on almost 110 years of experience in transportation, to new markets such as Latin America, since our growth strategy undoubtedly relies on internationalization as a fundamental engine.”
