The Cadiz Free Trade Zone strengthens relations with Colombia; the Rionegro Manager visits strategic projects.

 

The delegate of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, accompanied by the director of Business Promotion and Foreign Trade, Marta Domínguez, received a prominent Colombian delegation headed by Carlos Mesa, manager of the Rionegro Free Trade Zone (Medellín), and Sara Valderrama Zapata, Administrative Assistant Manager of the entity. The main objective of the visit was to learn in detail about the facilities, innovative projects, and the new industrial model being implemented by the Cadiz Consortium.

 

During the meeting, Fran González presented to the Colombian representatives the progress made in the startup incubator of Blue Economy and the development of the 4.0 business incubator, called ZF Blue Core. These initiatives seek to position Cádiz as a benchmark in the new economy and sustainable industry.

 

This visit is part of the internationalization strategy of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, which seeks to attract investment and foster collaboration with entities and companies in key markets in Latin America.

 

The Cádiz Free Trade Zone has consolidated a close link with Latin America, especially with Colombia, a country with which contacts have been intensified through recent trade missions and active participation in the Association of Free Trade Zones of the Americas (AZFA), where Fran González is a member of the Board of Directors.

 

Carlos Mesa, who also toured the port of Cadiz, showed great interest in the spaces of the Cadiz fiscal precinct and its strategic geographical location. Rionegro Free Trade Zone, with more than 32 years of experience, is a benchmark in Colombia, housing more than 100 companies from sectors such as logistics, commerce, industry, services, and technology, with a notable focus on sustainability. This enclave, located next to Medellín International Airport, generates nearly 5.000 direct jobs and has been a key driver in the development of eastern Mexico. Antioquia.

 

“It is a pleasure to open the doors of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone to representatives from other countries and showcase our initiatives,” stated Fran González. “This visit demonstrates the ties we are strengthening in our internationalization efforts and as a bridge with other Latin American free trade zones, highlighting Colombia’s role in this connection with the province of Cádiz.”

 

For its part, Carlos Mesa He praised the vision of the Cadiz consortium: "The Cadiz Free Trade Zone goes beyond simply attracting companies; it is creating a pipeline of future companies in highly innovative sectors to achieve, in the future, companies that generate social benefits and employment for the region.
