LabelExpo Europe and ICE, two events of international stature, join the offer of rooms at Fira de Barcelona

The arrival of these halls from Brussels and London, respectively, is part of Fira de Barcelona's strategy to capture international benchmark events for the city.

Barcelona will have two new world-leading events in their sectors in its fair calendar starting in 2025. The fair Labelexpo Europe, the largest in the world for the packaging and label printing sector, and events ICE and iGB, the largest international event for professionals in the gaming industry, have chosen the Catalan capital as their new headquarters.

 

Labelexpo Europe, organized by Tarsus Group, will celebrate its last edition next September in Brussels, its headquarters for 38 years. The change is due, among other reasons, to the objective of continuing to grow as the world's leading event in the sector, which brings together more than 500 companies and 40.000 visitors from 140 countries.

 

Thus, the biennial exhibition will meet in autumn 2025 at the Gran Via the sector's leading companies, both packaging and folding cartons and label printers, which will present the latest technologies and innovations in products, materials and machinery through demonstrations and presentations with machines in operation.

 

For its part, the company Clarion, organizer of ICE and iGB, has announced the transfer of the events from the British capital to Barcelona after a selection process in which candidates from several cities participated.

 

The ICE fair is the largest global event in the sector, which brings together industry professionals every year, from technology developers, experts in cybersecurity, consumer protection and responsible gaming, creators of digital entertainment, distributors, operators, retailers, innovators, associations commercial, strategic and regulatory bodies, representing all areas of the industry. The show is held together with iGB, focused on digital marketing for this sector.

 

On an annual basis, ICE and iGB have attendance of more than 45.000 professional visitors from 150 countries and more than 600 exhibitors. According to the calculations of Clarion, the estimated economic impact of this event amounts to 280 million euros. The 2025 edition, scheduled for January, will already be held at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue, which will host it until 2029.

 

The general manager of Fira de Barcelona, ​​Constantí Serrallonga, highlights that “the celebration in our venues in the coming years of two internationally renowned trade fairs in their respective fields reinforces the institution's strategic commitment to hosting major world-class trade fair events.”

 

Furthermore, he adds, "it is great news for the business fabric of the country, the city and its surroundings, since its impact can generate great economic and technological opportunities."

 

Leading event venue

 

LabelExpo Europe and ICE join the wide portfolio of internationally renowned events hosted or organized by Fira de Barcelona. The fair institution, which holds more than 250 annual events, has been chosen in recent years to host fairs of the magnitude of ISE, the world's leading exhibition for the audiovisual industry, Seafood Expo Global, the largest competition dedicated to seafood, or ShopTalk Europe, an international retail benchmark that held its first edition in Barcelona this year. In addition, the main pharmaceutical sector fair will take place in October, CPHI Europe, as well as more than twenty congresses in the field of health on the campus of Gran Via and the CCIB.

 

These events join other large events that are organized in the Fira venues such as MWC, Alimentaria, Automobile Barcelona, ​​Salón Náutico, Smart City Expo World Congress, Hispack, Sónar, or IoT Solutions World Congress, among others.
