Structured cabling
It is a cabling system designed in a logical hierarchy that accommodates all existing and future cabling into a single system. A structured cabling system requires a star topology, which allows for easy management and flexible growth capacity.
It is the foundation and support of a LAN network and it is advisable to do it properly with certifications so as not to slow down the management of our company with the typical undetectable problems resulting from doing things wrong.
The following are some of the general characteristics of a structured cabling system:
• The configuration of new workstations is done externally from a central node, without needing to change the rest of the workstations.
• Troubleshooting and correction is simplified because problems can be detected centrally.
• Using a physical star topology, it is possible to configure different logical topologies in both bus and ring configurations, simply by centrally reconfiguring the connections.
