November 18th marked the 85th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Latvia. To commemorate this significant date, the Latvian Ambassador to Spain, Aija Odina, hosted a reception at the Anthropological Museum of Madrid, preceded by the opening of a beautiful exhibition of national costumes and a performance by a Latvian folk music group. Among those attending were numerous figures from the diplomatic world, the Secretary of State for the EU, Ramón de Miguel, and the Secretary of State for Culture, Luis Alberto Cuenca. The Ambassador highlighted the excellent state of relations between Latvia and Spain, two future partners and allies in the EU and NATO.
