Logista will be responsible for managing the network of ticket sales for the Andalusian Transport Consortiums. They have been awarded the contract for a period of two years, which may be extended.
The integrated logistics operator will provide the consortia that make up the Andalusian network with a system allowing users to utilize electronically rechargeable transport cards, fully interoperable within the designated areas. The transport consortia comprising the Andalusian metropolitan area network are those of Cádiz, Granada, Málaga, Seville, and Campo de Gibraltar. Just as users can utilize their transport passes in any of these areas, any consortium that joins the Andalusian network will adopt the same management system. The electronically rechargeable cards available to customers can be topped up at approximately 600 ticket outlets located in these areas.
Within the mechanism, the transport consortia of Malaga and Granada already enjoy a contactless electronic transport ticket system, which will be added to the Cadiz consortium imminently, while those of Seville and Campo de Gibraltar will do so in the coming months.
This new contract adds one more to the fifty or so transport entities throughout Spain, including Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Vizcaya, Santander or León, among other cities and provinces.
