Luis Planas highlights the "excellent" agricultural and commercial relationship between Spain and China

 

Planas stressed that this fruitful cooperation is based on fundamental principles such as mutual trust, the customer, respect or with a international trade based on clear rules.

 

The Spanish minister assured that China is a "key and strategic partner" for Spain, in addition to being its main market in AsiaThe importance of this commercial link is reflected in the export figures: Spanish agri-food sales to the Asian giant exceed 1.864 millones de euros.

 

The breakdown of these exports shows the predominance of meat products. More than half (55 %) of what is exported corresponds to pork and its derivatives intended for human consumption. Next in importance is olive oil, which represents the 7% of total sales.

 

In the search to continue strengthening the avenues of collaboration, Planas recalled that joint work and mutual understanding have allowed Spain and China to sign, since June 2018 12 protocols key to facilitating the entry and opening of new Spanish agri-food products to the Chinese market.
