The initiative, which will be open until 18 September 2026It seeks to support both the acquisition of zero-emission trucks and the deployment of their corresponding charging infrastructure.
This strategic move falls within the framework of the "electric sessions" organized by Klima Agence as part of the program Klimapakt fir Betriberreaffirming the country's commitment to a green economy and more sustainable logistics.
Details of the Calls for Proposals: Investment in Vehicles and Infrastructure
The first call for proposals has a budget of 10 millones de euros and is focused on the purchase of zero-emission vehicles or the conversion of existing fleets. The program has been structured into three different lots according to the Maximum Authorized Mass (MAM) of the vehicles:
Lot 1 covers N2 category trucks with a maximum authorized mass (MAM) between 3,5 and 12 tons. Lot 2 covers N3 category trucks with a MAM between 12 and 28 tons. Finally, Lot 3 covers N3 category trucks with a MAM exceeding 28 tons.
The second call, endowed with 4 millones de eurosIt focuses exclusively on the establishment of charging infrastructure for N2 and N3 category trucks. A fundamental requirement for the projects is that the infrastructure is powered 100% by renewable electricity and that it guarantees its operability for a minimum of five years from its commissioning.

Future Plans: Towards a Pan-European Freight Network
In addition to these two lines of aid, the Luxembourg government plans to launch an additional call for proposals at the end of 2026. This will focus on the deployment of large, publicly accessible charging stations dedicated to electric heavy vehicles, strategically located along the country's main highways.
This initiative aims to contribute to the consolidation of a European fast-charging network that will allow electric trucks to operate efficiently on cross-border routes. Furthermore, a new, broader call for proposals is planned for early 2027, encompassing all types of charging infrastructure, with the goal of strengthening the national network for all vehicle classes.
