In absolute terms, international capital destined for high technology in Madrid amounted to more than 1.163 millones de euros in the first six months of the year. This figure also represents the 25,8 % of all foreign capital registered in the Community during that period.
Data Centers, the Great Engine
Within technological investment, the sector of data processing and file hosting services on servers (known as data centers) was the main receptor, absorbing the 66,8 % of this foreign investment, which translates into 776 millones de euros.
An Ecosystem Favorable to Innovation
These data were highlighted by the Digitalization advisor, Miguel Lopez-Valverde, during the closing ceremony of the first edition of Madrid Investment Destination Forum, organized by The Confidential.
López-Valverde stressed that this success is due to the "dynamic Madrid business ecosystem, with a high level of digital talent and a regulatory environment favorable to innovation."
The regional minister emphasized the government's commitment: "We are promoting policies that foster collaboration between companies, universities, and research centers, while simultaneously strengthening digital infrastructure and cybersecurity. All of this makes the region a strategic location for national and international technology companies to develop their projects and create quality jobs," he concluded.
