Madrid consolidates its position as a leader in foreign investment in Spain.

The Spanish capital, which attracted more than two out of every three euros of foreign investment in 2024, is preparing to host the second edition of the Madrid Investment Forum. This event, which brings together prominent business leaders and international economic experts, seeks to consolidate the Community as a key destination for global capital.

The presentation of the forum, held at the headquarters of the newspaper La Razón, was attended by the Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment, Dew Albert, who highlighted the region's remarkable economic performance. According to Albert, Madrid attracted €24.705 billion in foreign transactions last year, representing an impressive 67,1% of the national total and a 43% increase over the previous year.

“The Community of Madrid is the benchmark for investment in Spain,” Albert stated. He attributed this success to more than two decades of policies based on economic freedom, legal certainty, fiscal stability, and support for private enterprise. These measures have positioned the region among the top 20 investment destinations worldwide.

The commitment to technology and territorial expansion

The forum, sponsored by companies such as Banco Santander, Oracle and Lilly, will feature the participation of the Invest in Madrid agency, which serves as a gateway for companies seeking to establish themselves in the region. Albert emphasized the Community's interest in attracting high-value-added investment, especially in the technology industry.

Unlike other events focused on the capital, the Madrid Investment Forum promotes territorial rebalancing, taking its activities to various municipalities such as Arganda del Rey, Colmenar Viejo, Boadilla del Monte, Colmenar de Oreja and Móstoles. This decentralized approach seeks to project the investment capacity of the entire Community.

Over the course of three days, the forum will host panel discussions on strategic sectors, including pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, housing and infrastructure, mobility, logistics, and technology. The event will culminate with a ceremony in Móstoles, where investment and entrepreneurship awards will be presented in seven categories, highlighting innovation, talent, and international reach.
