The city of Malaga is preparing to host the sixth edition of the Small Satellites & Services International Forum (SSSIF) from the 18 to the 20 of February of 2025.
Under the motto «Industrialization and sustainability in space"SSSIF 2025 will focus on the industrial development of small satellites and the challenges of sustainability. It will also address the growing use of these satellites in commercial, scientific, and defense applications."
One of the new features this year is the creation of a meeting space between universities and professionals in the sector. Five Spanish universities, including the University of Malaga, the University of Granada, the University of Vigo, the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, will participate in the congress, giving students the opportunity to learn about the sector first-hand. The SSSIF 2025 will feature the presence of prominent figures in the space field, such as Juan Carlos Cortés, director of the Spanish Space Agency (AEE); Noelia Peinado and Luca Maresi, from the European Space Agency (ESA); and General Isaac Crespo, head of the Space Command. Likewise, leading companies such as Airbus, GMV, PLD Space, Sener and Indra-Deimos will be represented at the event.
The congress programme includes more than 20 expert lectures, a dozen round tables and 30 stands where companies in the sector will showcase their latest developments. Topics to be addressed include space security, space missions for services to society, new technologies for the small satellite business, Earth observation and the space economy.
