Morocco launches a strategic plan to boost its exports and establish itself as a clean energy powerhouse for Europe.

The Kingdom of Morocco has taken a decisive step to strengthen its export muscle with the launch of the program “Power Export: One Shop Store Export”This tool, articulated by the Ministry of Foreign Trade in collaboration with the development agency Maroc PME, is presented as a fundamental lever within the Growth and Employment Pact 2025-2027, designed to increase the competitiveness of Moroccan companies on the international stage.

The initiative focuses on clear objectives: expanding the portfolio of destinations for national products, strengthening the brand's prestige “Made in Morocco” and facilitate the integration of their companies into global value chains. The Ministry of Foreign Trade has emphasized that the strategy seeks to ensure "entrepreneurs have the tools and personalized support to ensure a lasting presence in global markets."

To achieve this, the program establishes two support channels. On the one hand, it offers companies starting out in foreign trade a diagnosis and an action plan with public funding of up to 80% costs. On the other hand, it provides individualized support to companies already exporting so they can implement their expansion plans, with incentives that can reach two million dirhams. Ministerial sources emphasized that the program "provides clear frameworks, concrete tools, and personalized support to entrepreneurs with the aim of consolidating Morocco's export presence worldwide."

An energy power in the making

Beyond boosting its traditional exports, this plan is strategically intertwined with Morocco's vision of positioning itself as a a leading player in the global energy marketThe North African country is moving forward with determination in its decarbonization agenda, aspiring to make renewable energies the 52% of its energy mix by 2030.

The kingdom's enormous solar and wind potential is the foundation for plans to supply electricity and, above all, green hydrogen to Europe. Landmark projects such as the submarine interconnection cables with Spain and the United Kingdom, along with the formation of large international consortia, are the spearhead of this strategy.

A spokesperson for the state agency involved in developing the program summed it up this way: “We are laying the foundations for Morocco to not only export products, but also clean energy and cutting-edge technological solutions"We want our economy to be a key player in the global energy transition."

In this context, industry experts are already pointing to Morocco's clear "vocation to lead the supply of green hydrogen to Europe and become a regional energy hub," an ambition supported by collaboration with leading international companies, including the Spanish companies Acciona and Moeve.
