More than 70 companies come to Sao Paulo to identify investment opportunities at a Spain-Brazil meeting

ICEX Spain Export and Investments, in coordination with the Chamber of Spain and CEOE, organizes the Spain-Brazil Business Meeting which will take place in Sao Paulo from April 24 to 26 and features the participation of 71 Spanish companies and around 250 stores.

 

The meeting will be opened by the president of Government, Mariano Rajoyand by Brazilian authorities. Also participating will be the Secretary of State for Trade, Marisa Poncela, the Vice President of CEOE, Joaquín Gay de Montellá, José Luis Bonet, President of the Chamber of Spain, and the CEO of ICEX, Francisco Javier Garzón.

 

The purpose of this meeting is to help Spanish companies identify business opportunities en Brazil through a greater understanding of the target market and of the investment opportunities and business cooperation existing in the sectors selected as priorities: aeronautics, renewable energies, waste management, transport infrastructure and environment.  

 

The fifth largest economy in the world

 

BrazilWith 206 million inhabitants, it is the world's fifth largest economy in terms of both area and population. It is the economic powerhouse of the region, with a GDP of $1,7 trillion in 2015 and a per capita income of over $8.500, classifying it as an emerging middle-income economy. Although its growth rate has fluctuated considerably in recent years, forecasts point to a recovery to around 2%.

 

The current government has included the objective of growth among its financial and monetary policies and has undertaken various structural reform measures to achieve it. Of particular note are the growth plans and initiatives to promote investment in infrastructure, such as the project GROW UP and those collected in the PAC (Growth Acceleration Program).

 

 

 

Investment opportunities in the aeronautics, renewable energy, waste management, infrastructure and environment sectors will be discussed.
