MAT GROUP™ expands its presence in Malaysia with financial backing from COFIDES

MAT GROUP™, An innovative company in the protection and security sector, it has taken a firm step in its strategy of international expantion upon receiving a loan of 100.000 euros from COFIDESThis financing, which comes from the Fund for Operations Abroad of Small and Medium Enterprises (FONPYME) and COFIDES' own resources, will be used to purchase machinery and expand its production plant in Malaysia.

The company, based in Terrassa (Barcelona), already established its presence in Malaysia in 2022, even amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. MAT GROUP™ started its operations under the format factory-in-factory, establishing several assembly lines. With this new investment, the company will have its own production space of 16.300 m2, where a 6.000 m2 centre will be built in a first phase. This expansion will allow MAT GROUP™ to increase its production capacity and meet the growth needs foreseen in the short and long term.

The collaboration between COFIDES and MAT GROUP™ dates back to 2020, when both entities joined forces to facilitate the Capabilities and the company’s growth in China. Now, this strategic alliance is strengthened with the aim of boosting MAT GROUP™’s presence in the Malaysian market.
