The multinational cybersecurity company McAfee has reached a definitive agreement to buy the mobile security company SafeBoot for 247 million euros (350 million dollars), the company said in a statement released in Madrid.

"With the acquisition of SafeBoot, we will be able to offer a complete data protection solution that combines SafeBoot's devices, disks, and content with McAfee's data loss prevention solutions," said Dave DeWalt, the company's president and CEO, in the statement.
SafeBoot is dedicated to providing content encryption and data protection for mobile devices in 20 languages and 76 countries against the risks associated with loss, theft, and unauthorized access.
In total, SafeBoot will bring McAfee more than 4.200 customers, of which 47 percent are in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, 29 percent in North America and 23 percent in the Asia-Pacific region.
Following the completion of the acquisition, SafeBoot's technologies and McAfee's data loss prevention solution will form a new Data Protection business unit, reporting directly to the president.
