Meliá Hotels International, leading hotel company in Spain, has been awarded in the Internationalization Awards organized by the Exporters and Investors Club.
Among the winners of these awards, the hotel company has been recognized as Large Spanish Company and a Outstanding International Projection.
The jury, made up of more than a dozen professionals and members of the Exporters and Investors Club, including its President Antonio Bonet, has positively valued the work of Meliá Hotels International as a company Spain brand ambassador. As Meliá is the leading hotel company in the country and with an extensive international presence, being present in more than 40 countries on five continents, its already consolidated international career of more than 35 yearss that has led it to be, for example, the only Spanish hotel company with a presence in China and Vietnam.
In the words of Gabriel Escarrer, “we are proud to receive this award, which is recognition of the long journey of our company both in the hotel industry and in transferring the Spain brand through hospitality in the world's leading destinations. Continuing Meliá's internationalization is one of our main objectives and, although we are living in challenging times, we continue working on incorporating new projects and opening new international hotels."
Meliá Hotels International, which currently has 326 hotels around the world, more than half outside Spain, has 50 projects and among them several openings that are planned for 2021
This year the company has been able to open new hotels, highlighting the ME Dubai, a spectacular hotel designed by the architect Zaha Zadid, and the recently inaugurated Gran Meliá Chengdu in China, with which it has increased its international luxury portfolio.
In addition to its growing international presence, Meliá Hotels International It has also become a global benchmark thanks to its performance in sustainability. Recognized as the most sustainable hotel company in Spain and Europe in 2020 according to the latest SAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment, published by S&P Global, has also recently been named seventh company in the world in sustainable management according to the prestigious ranking “World's Most Sustainably Managed Companies" of the Wall Street Journal. Two recognitions that, without a doubt, have highlighted Meliá's competitiveness at an international level.
