The Spanish chain is also among the 20 best-performing Spanish companies in this global ranking, which evaluates the commitment and progress in sustainability of more than 5.000 leading companies around the world.
The ranking is based on a comprehensive four-stage methodology and considers more than 20 key indicators. Among the criteria evaluated are adherence to international initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact and the commitment to Science Based Targets. The inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook, as well as the quality and transparency of ESG (environmental, social and governance) reports submitted in accordance with international standards such as GRI, SASB and TCFD.
This is the second time Meliá Hotels International has been included on this list, underscoring its dedication to a business model that seeks to generate sustainable value in every destination where it operates.
