Mexico, guest country at the International Construction Week in Madrid

This multi-sector event, which includes fairs CONSTRUTEC, VETECO, SMART DOORS and PISCIMAD, will bring together more than 1.000 companies, coinciding with MATELEC, the International Exhibition of Solutions for the Electrical and Electronic Industry.

Mexico's presence seeks to enhance the trade relations and innovation in key sectors such as construction, façades, solar protection, and aquatic facilities. With around 50 Mexican and Spanish companies and institutions present, the event aims to generate new synergies and explore opportunities for collaboration.

The Mexican ambassador to Spain, Quirino Ordaz Coppel, highlighted the importance of this participation: “We celebrate the participation of Mexico as a guest country in these four events due to the great potential they have and because this International Construction Week is being held for the first time. This will undoubtedly be an excellent opportunity to Strengthening international alliances".

This call, which has internationalization as one of its main axes, seeks to enhance the visibility of companies from this country due to its growing influence in the global construction landscape.

For its part, Luis Rodulfo, president of the Construtec Organizing Committee, highlighted the value of the collaboration with Mexico: “Being able to count on Mexico as a guest country demonstrates its growth for these sectors and for us. And its participation will allow us to highlight not only its progress in this area, but also its capacity as a country due to the collaboration opportunities that it will generate.”

With a marked focus on internationalization, the event will feature the participation of companies from more than 20 countries, including: Germany, China, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The growth of trade relations between Spain and Mexico is evident, with exports reaching 3.101,8 million euros in the first months of 2024, consolidating Mexico as Spain's main trading partner in Latin America.
