Motril consolidates its position as a strategic port for solid bulk cargo traffic thanks to the management of Terminal Marítima de Granada and Motril Shipping

In particular, the trafficking of solid bulk is experiencing sustained growth, driven by its proximity to numerous quarries and by operating conditions that make it highly competitive.

In this context, the coordinated work between Granada Maritime Terminal (TMG) y Motril Shipping has been key. Both companies have demonstrated solid operational capacity and reliable management, positioning them as strategic players within the maritime logistics chain. During the month of May, activity at the port has been intense. Important operations have been carried out, such as the loading of granite and dolomite, as well as the unloading of essential raw materials such as wheat, cement, and kaolin. In total, more than 20.000 tons of merchandise, all consigned by Motril Shipping and operated by TMG. Among the featured vessels are the Armara Jules Verne, which loaded 3.500 tons of granite, the Breb Timber with 3.400 tons of dolomite, or the Marguerita, which unloaded 5.000 tons of kaolin. This variety of cargo confirms the port's versatility and the technical capacity of the companies involved.

La Azucenas Dock plays a decisive role in this growth. Its 12-meter draft and large storage area allow it to accommodate larger vessels and undertake operations of more than 50.000 tons per shipment, something unthinkable just a few years ago. Proof of this evolution is the current preparation of two new operations: 45.000 tons of aggregate y 55.000 tons of gypsum which will be shipped between the end of May and the beginning of June, consolidating Motril as a key logistics point in the maritime transport of bulk cargo.

This volume of traffic not only reflects the port's operational efficiency, but also the trust that customers and shipping companies place in it. Granada Maritime Terminal and Motril Shipping, who have proven to be up to the most demanding logistics and commercial standards in the market.
