La Murcia It consolidates itself as one of the main Spanish powers in the footwear export, ranking eighth nationwide.
The importance of this sector in the regional economy is reinforced by its fourth place in footwear production at the national level, surpassed only by Alicante, La Rioja and Albacete.
The main destinations for Murcian footwear exports are France (13,5 million euros), Italy (11,22 million), Germany, (4,52 million), United Kingdom (4,38 million) and Portugal (2,51 million).
As a sign of the sector's dynamism, eleven brands from Murcia showcased their designs at the 100th edition of the prestigious international footwear fair.Micam' of Milan, held from September 7 to 9.

The Minister of Business, Employment and Social Economy, Marisa López AragónHe highlighted the quality, design, and innovative capacity of footwear from Murcia. Within the framework of the fair's centenary, his department, through the Institute for Development (Info), launched the campaign 'Region of Murcia, where creativity is manufactured' to promote the internationalization of the sector.
López Aragón emphasized the regional government's commitment to supporting Murcian companies in their growth in international markets, highlighting that export growth is "a fundamental driver for job creation and wealth generation."
Trend-setting brands
The Murcian firms that participated in the fair 'Micam' were Casteller, D'Felino, Jutelia, Kanna, Mypol, Suite 58, Picón, Pinaz, Refresh, Carmela and XTI. These brands, which range from handcrafted jute footwear to youthful fashion designs, presented their collections for the spring-summer 2026 season.
In total, 135 Spanish companies participated in the fair, of which more than a hundred were grouped in the pavilion 'Shoes from Spain'.
