The process experienced by both companies began in December 2012 with the announcement of the acquisition of azkar and has developed progressively over these three years. As has been pointed out Bernhard Simon, CEO of DachserDuring the press conference, he stated, “Our companies were a perfect fit from the start. We share the same values, the same corporate culture, and an entrepreneurial vision. This foundation has allowed us to carry out the integration relatively quickly and smoothly. At the same time, since the acquisition, in the Iberian Peninsula "We have grown significantly year after year."
The data confirms these words since between 2013 and 2016, the until now azkar, has increased its connections with up to a total of 130 Europe currently. Likewise, the number of shipments to and from Europe and the rest of the world has grown by 40% during this same period. This collaboration has been reflected in the weight of exports today, which represent 20% of the company's total turnover in Spain and Portugal. Not only has this cooperation allowed the increase in the business volume of azkar in recent years, but has also promoted the development of new solutions adapted to the Iberian and European market: Contract Logistics, Cargoplus (FTL/LTL services), DACHSER Chem-Logistics and DACHSER DIY-Logistics.
The same company, the same identity
In terms of image, the integration process enters its final phase, with the replacement of the name and colors of azkar by those of dachser, both in uniforms, vehicles, buildings, etc. John Quintana has confirmed during the announcement that "it is logical that we should also be fully Dachser in our corporate identity. In this sense, five branches (Barcelona, Bilbao, Malaga, Porto and Valencia) have already replaced the corporate image with that of dachser. Of the approximately 2.000 delivery trucks, more than 80% already display the Dachser image today.”
Bernhard Simon He added, “Together, we are Dachser, and together we are stronger and go further. This brings advantages only to employees and, above all, to customers, who now clearly identify us under a single name. That's why, when we expand the network, we invest equally in jobs, expanding facilities, and integrating systems and processes. In fact, the company plans to invest €177 million in these improvements by 2017, as well as in the future digital challenges we will face together. In short, today we open a new chapter in our shared success story in the Iberian Peninsula.”
