NAVANTIA delivers the Platform Support Vessel to Petróleos Mexicanos

Navantia and PMI (Petróleos Mexicanos) They signed the delivery of the last February 10th Platform Support Vessel (BAP) baptized as ““Oil Pride”, built in the shipyards of Ferrol estuary.

 

This availability occurs once the sea trials have been successfully completed, as well as the expansion work agreed upon with the client.  

 

The construction of this ship required more than a million hours of work, in addition to 130.000 hours of engineering, and marked the return of civil construction to the Ferrol Estuary 12 years later.

 

El BAP The flotel is a multipurpose and technologically advanced vessel, with the capacity to accommodate around 700 workers for long periods of time. oil rigsThe vessel, characterized by its DP3 dynamic positioning capability, is primarily intended to offer maximum comfort on the high seas. It features cabins, leisure and recreation rooms that ensure the required high level of habitability. It also features a gangway (telescopic gangway) to allow the passage of flotel personnel to the platforms it supports.

 

 

In the coming months, work will begin on the construction of two Cantabria-type logistics support vessels for Australia, which will be built entirely in the Ferro Estuary.

 

 

Vessel characteristics: Length: 131.20 m. Beam: 27 m. Deadweight: 7000 tons, Accommodation capacity: 700 people, Dynamic Positioning DP3, DNV Classification, 3 programs underway and 3 to be started in the coming months.

 

Currently the shipyards of the Ferrol estuary, once the construction of the Flotel is completed for Pemex, they build a BAM for Armada Española, and they manufacture various blocks for oil tankers suez max. On the other hand, in the coming months work will begin on the construction of two logistics support vessels of the type Cantabria for Australia, which will be done entirely in the Ferrol estuary, and whose contract was obtained in strong international competition last May.
