The Navarre Regional Government was present at the 50 Plus Beurs trade fair
Navarra's tourism offerings were represented with a stand at the fifth edition of the fair 50 Plus Beurs Held in the Dutch city of Utrecht from September 19th to 23rd, this was the first time the Navarrese Community of Navarre has participated in this event. Its presence was part of the promotional activities undertaken by the Department of Culture and Tourism to attract foreign visitors to Navarre. This push has been particularly focused on the Dutch and Belgian markets throughout 2007. The characteristics of a large segment of the Dutch population—over fifty years old, with high purchasing power, ample free time, and a demand for less crowded and less-known tourist destinations—make Navarre a very attractive region for this market segment. The Navarrese Community participated with a 20-square-meter stand within the fair's travel pavilion, where visitors could find a diverse range of tourism offerings, primarily based on the Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James), rural tourism, nature-based cultural experiences, birdwatching, gastronomy, and more.
