Neoenergia and Iberdrola partner on the Muçununga project

The objective of this collaboration is to co-develop the Muçununga Project, an ambitious initiative to restore approximately 1.200 hectares of Atlantic forest in eight municipalities in southern Bahia. The total estimated investment for this project amounts to approximately 8,5 millones de euros.

The project foresees the planting of about 2 million seedlings of more than 70 native species, such as araçá, copaíba, guapuruvu, ipê-amarelo, and jatobá, within a period of two years. This diversity of species is crucial for the restoration of ecological corridors, which will benefit the ecosystem and increase the value of the project.

In addition to its ecological impact, the Muçununga Project will also boost socioeconomic development in the region. The creation of at least 80 direct jobs, contributing to the local economy and improving the living conditions of the community.
