New association for the study of Port Law

Legal professionals from the state-owned port sector, specifically from ports along the Cantabrian coast, have established the Association for the Study of Port Law at the Magdalena Lighthouse in Santander. At the founding meeting, it was agreed to establish the association's headquarters at the Magdalena Lighthouse, owned by the Port Authority of Santander, given the city's long-standing tradition as a forum and venue for academic meetings and activities.

The purpose of this Association is to address the legal issues related to ports and maritime traffic, as well as to develop any actions that contribute to a better understanding of port activity. It also intends, in collaboration with State Ports, to organize seminars and meetings with other national and international associations, and to publish in specialized journals.

The board of directors is made up of: Agustín Bravo from the Port of Bilbao, who has been appointed its president, Pablo Acero and Fernando Barcena from the Port of Santander, José Luis Baretino from the Port of Gijón, and Ignacio Alvar González from the Port of Avilés.
