Special attention to the environment
The Equipment Show for
The hospitality industry is a sector of great importance in our country. In fact, Spain has the highest concentration of establishments in all of Europe, exceeding 640.000, and all these premises (bars, cafes, hotels, restaurants, etc.) require good equipment to offer quality service to their customers.
This sector represents approximately 7% of our country's wealth and employs more people each year. At the same time, demand is becoming increasingly stringent, requiring agents to constantly innovate and offer new products. This necessitates training, research, and investment, which translates into the provision of new products and services like those showcased at the HOREQ 07 trade fair.
One of the most interesting new products to be seen at the event, as they are being presented for the first time in Spain, is the winery climate control system from the company ADOLFO ESTEBAN. This new model is based on positive cooling and variable-speed fans. Thanks to this design, it not only achieves an optimal temperature for wine storage, but also significantly reduces noise, prevents humidity loss, and lowers energy costs and consumption.
Caring for the environment is a top priority for companies today, and many are incorporating environmental conservation policies into their products. This is the case with ITV ICE MAKERS, which has launched a "trade-in program" to replace older equipment with newer models, such as those that produce ice in cubes, flakes, or chunks. Their Quasar machines, for example, don't require injectors or pumps, so they are unaffected by water impurities and don't need filters.
Ice, in addition to preserving and cooling food, can be an important part of the presentation of meals offered by hotels and restaurants. At HOREQ 07, TECNIMEL is showcasing a new drinking concept with its Icydrink ice glasses. These glasses, made entirely of ice, are perfect for serving all kinds of cocktails, appetizers, and beverages, offering a unique, original, and enjoyable experience, as well as a striking visual impact for customers. The ice cubes are conical in shape and presented in a specially designed glass.
Cutting-edge designs
Design is highly valued by companies in this sector, as it is a key differentiator. CART SERVICE, a packaging company, will showcase its new concept for the catering industry, blending design and functionality. At HOREQ, they will present a line of luxury disposable tableware and cutlery, created by French designer Philippe Starck. This "Hands-Free Kit" allows the tray to be carried with one hand, leaving the other free, thanks to a support that rises from the base and holds the cups and utensils.
Another type of tray, in this case for minibars, is the one BARTECH sells. These courtesy trays, called CourtesyX™, are electronic, are placed inside the minibar, and can detect and track any item placed on them, regardless of its weight or size. They are connected to the hotel's computers and provide real-time information, so when a guest checks out, they will be notified if they have left anything behind (such as medicine, baby bottles, etc.), while also providing hotel staff with a simple and effective management system.
VESCOM has also considered hotels, but in this case, focusing on wall design. At HOREQ 07, they will present their two new collections of wall coverings in fabric and vinyl. The Xorel wallcovering, for example, offers 15 designs of all kinds and is durable, dirt and bacteria repellent, easy to clean, water-resistant, colorfast, and made from an eco-friendly material.
On cost Sony will simulate different hotel spaces and equip them with the company's audiovisual communication solutions, which help these establishments manage their business more effectively and offer better service to their customers. Among other things, they will showcase plasma and LCD screens fully integrated into the decor, displaying information for guests, advanced projection and videoconferencing systems, IP security and video surveillance solutions for common areas and exteriors, and digital photo printing systems so guests can enjoy high-quality photos in seconds at an affordable price.
TES, JTECH's representative in Spain, will also be presenting, among other electronic systems, the Service Call, which allows customers to call a member of staff simply by pressing a button. With this device, the restaurant's servers receive a vibrating signal that also indicates the origin of the call and the table number, enabling them to attend to the customer immediately. Additionally, thanks to the Servalert, the head chef can silently alert the servers when dishes are ready at each table, using a vibration alert system integrated into the staff's belt.
Finally, DYSON SPAIN will also be presenting a new product in Spain at the event: the Dyson Airblade, a cutting-edge hand dryer that offers complete drying in just 10 seconds. What's unique about this system is that it doesn't require hot air, nor is it necessary to rub your hands together to dry them faster. In this way, they have created a more hygienic dryer than any conventional one, which also includes filters to sterilize the airflow, eliminating bacteria and preventing contact with the skin. This dryer allows for savings of up to 20% compared to other conventional dryers and up to 99% compared to paper towels.
