New directors of the Cervantes Institutes

The director of the Cervantes Institute, Carmen Caffarel, has appointed the new directors of the institution's centers in Paris (Enrique Camacho), Munich (Vicente Serrano), Athens (Eusebi Ayensa), Albuquerque (Vicente Luis Mora) and Sydney (Isidoro Castellanos).

 

Enrique Camacho García (Madrid, 1949), new director of the center of ParisHe previously directed the Cervantes Institutes in New York (1992-1997) and Toulouse (1997-2000). As a cultural manager, he directed (2002–2006) the Institute of Ethics at the European University of Madrid, where he coordinated courses and various activities in collaboration with Spanish and international institutions.

 

Eusebi Ayensa Prat (Figueras, Girona, 1967), director of AthensSince 1995, he has been an associate professor of Greek at the University of Girona. A graduate in Classical Philology and with a doctorate in Romance Philology, his dissertation being entitled "Studies on Greek Ballads," he possesses profound knowledge of Greek culture and language, from classical antiquity to the present day.

 

He has collaborated on the editing of numerous books and taught courses and seminars, most of them related to Greek civilization and history. He is a corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Belles Lettres of Barcelona. A member of the Catalan Institute of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies since its founding, he also serves on the Boards of Directors of the Association "Estudis Clàssics Girona" and the Hispano-Hellenic Cultural Association.

 

Vicente Luis Mora Suárez-Varela (Cordoba, 1970), director of AlbuquerqueHe has been until now the top official in charge of the Cultural Area of ​​the CajaSur Foundation, an entity in which he has worked since 2002. He has a degree in Law.

 

He has published a dozen books, both prose and poetry, and has received several awards, including the Andalucía Joven Narrative Prize (2005) and the Arcipreste de Hita Prize (1999). Isidoro Castellanos (Huerga de Frailes, León, 1955), director of SidneyHe holds a degree in English Philology, a doctorate in Philosophy and Educational Sciences, and Master of Arts He holds a degree in English Language and Linguistics and Australian Literature from the University of Sydney. He has directed the preparations for the launch of the new Cervantes Institute in the Australian capital. In Australia, he worked (1983-1989) as a linguistic advisor, teacher, and coordinator of the Spanish Language Teaching Program at the Spanish Embassy.

 

He has held various positions at the Cervantes Institute, including head of two departments: the Department of Teacher Training and the Department of Coordination of the Teacher Training Center. He is the author of the book "Landscape in Australian Colonial Poetry" as well as various teaching materials for learning Spanish. He has also directed conferences on language teaching.
