The global infrastructure company OHLA has announced the award of a significant new contract for the rehabilitation and improvement of the East Pan-American Highway in Panama.
The works, scheduled to begin in June 2025, are expected to be completed within 20 months. The work will include paving the road and expanding rest areas and bus stops, essential interventions to optimize traffic safety and flow. The contract has been awarded by the Eastern Route Concessionaire.

The company has maintained sustained activity in the country, participating in projects with high social and strategic impact. Its ongoing initiatives include the expansion of the Line 1 of the Panama Metro to Villa Zaita, a work that has already facilitated more than 9 million transits at the station Villa Zaita, significantly improving urban mobility in the capital.
Likewise, OHLA is developing the improvement and expansion works of the Mendoza water treatment plant, in the district of La Chorrera (West Panama). This project is expected to increase the drinking water supply by 50%, equivalent to an additional 20 million gallons per day, benefiting one of the most densely populated areas in the country.
