Oman dazzles at FITUR and bets on a 30% growth in Spanish tourists by 2030

During the fair, the Omani delegation held numerous meetings with companies in the Spanish tourism sector, establishing alliances and promoting the country as a destination. The interest shown by the Spanish market confirms the great growth opportunities for Oman, in line with the ambitious plan Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to position it as an international reference tourist destination.

“Oman’s participation in FITUR marks the beginning of a new phase in promoting our country in Spain. We want Spanish travelers to discover Oman’s natural, cultural, and historical richness and to strengthen relations with the Spanish tourism sector in order to develop offers tailored to their interests,” highlighted the Omani Minister of Heritage and Tourism. HE Salim M. Almahruqi.

Oman expects an annual growth of 30% of Spanish travellers from 2030, consolidating connectivity and mutual interest between both countries. To achieve this goal, the country has launched an advertising campaign in Spain and has presented new tourism developments for 2025, such as the transformation of the Al Jalali Fort in Muscat and the development of Coastal Tourist Zone in Duqm.

Oman's stand at FITUR was recognized as the Best Stand of the fair, standing out for its innovative design that fused traditional Omani architecture with a modern style. In addition, Oman offered a gala dinner at the Rosewood Villamagna Hotel, where attendees were able to enjoy an immersive experience in Omani culture through fashion, gastronomy and traditional music.

With a clear vision of growth and a commitment to innovation and sustainability, Oman is consolidating its position as one of the most attractive emerging destinations for Spanish travellers.
