Online course “International Trade: Maritime Transport and Port Operations”

In its 6th edition

SODERCAN and the Port of Santander, in collaboration with ICEX Spain Exportation and Investments, announce the 6th edition of this online course designed by ICEX-CECO.

The 6th edition of the online course “International Trade: Maritime Transport and Port Operations” which will be held from March 11 to May 26, 2019, is aimed at professionals in the international area of ​​export companies (mainly SMEs), as well as companies that are going to start in the foreign trade.

 

Participants in this training will be able to acquire knowledge of port operations and the main elements involved in maritime transport of goods. Likewise, they will be able to analyze the risks inherent to maritime transport with special emphasis on the phase in which the product passes through the port, and become familiar with the new customs code and its implications. Likewise, they will dominate the Incoterms 2010 and its connection with the contract, the means of payment, logistics and customs. And finally, they will be able to extract the main conclusions and lessons learned from visits to the main ports.

 

Program / Calendar

 

This training will have a duration of the online program of 120 teaching hours over 10 weeks, and will be distributed in the following modules

 

Module 0: Training in e-learning Tools. Virtual campus. March 11-17

Module 1: Ports as Intermodal Nodes and Logistics Centers. March 18-31

Module 2: Incoterms. April 1-14

 

Recovery week: April 15 to 21

 

Module 3: Customs. April 22-May 5

Module 4: Ports and Transportation Contracts. May 5-19

 

Recovery week: May 20 to 26

 

Once the theoretical teaching of the course is completed, visits to the main ports will be organized for the students, and they will be able to choose the one they want to visit according to their interests. In this way, it is intended that the professional knows in situ, with the help of the different operators involved, the key elements that will ultimately determine the logistical success of their export operations.

 

Students who complete the course, pass the self-assessment tests at the end of each module and visit one of the proposed ports, will receive the diploma accrediting completion of the course issued by ICEX-CECO, a visit to a port being mandatory to obtain said title.

Participation cost

 

 The cost of the course is €195, which is eligible for a discount through the Tripartite Foundation, not including the inherent expenses of visiting the ports selected by the student.

 

This amount includes the teaching materials provided during the course and online teaching, as well as the online technical support from the Technical-Pedagogical Team. If you have not been subsidized, SODERCAN will finance this action, to those Cantabrian companies that meet the requirements, within the internationalization plan that the company requests in the call GLOBALIZE 2019- SUPPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL PROMOTION ACTIONS.

 

These requirements are the following:

 

Any company Cantabria that you already export or are going to start in the foreign trade and export consortia or business groups that represent a group of Cantabrian companies of goods and services that export or are going to do so.

Personnel of the entity with a job in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria or of the entity's administrators who, not being included in the staff, provide their services on a regular basis.
