“Business and investment opportunities between Japan and Spain”

La Embassy of Japan and the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences of the University of Vigo They organized last Wednesday, April 28, a Online Round Table, in which prominent Spanish personalities participated in the field of trade and investment in Japan.

 

 

 

Mr. Pedro Mourino, Director of the Internationalization Forum of the Galician Business Circle, moderated the Round Table that was inaugurated by the Mgfo. Mr. Manuel Reigosa, Rector of the University of Vigo; who read a letter of greeting from the Ambassador of Japan, His Excellency. Mr. Hiramatsu, Kenji.

 

The Ambassador of Japan highlighted in his letter that one of the objectives he set at the beginning of his diplomatic mission in Spain was to “strengthen the economic and business ties between our two countries” and recalled that “the foundation of our relations is the Economic Partnership Agreement between Japan and the EU”, in force since 2019 and which created “the largest economic region in the world with 600 million inhabitants, 30% of the world's GDP, and 40% of international trade".

 

He added that, although, with this Agreement, “the strategic framework to achieve greater growth in both areas was prepared, the pandemic has hit the Spanish and Japanese economies. However, every crisis hides new opportunities” and he thus expressed his confidence in overcoming the challenges of this crisis together to “recover and grow hand in hand towards a better society”.
