Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines: the Murcia INFO promotes the region's products
The Institute for the Promotion of the Region of Murcia is organizing a trade mission to Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines from March 10th to 19th, with the aim of promoting the food, packaging, machinery, construction materials, furniture and chemical sectors and enabling business meetings between the participating companies registered for the trip.
This initiative falls within the framework of the Region of Murcia's 2000-2006 Foreign Trade Promotion Plan, jointly managed by the Region's Chambers of Commerce and the regional development agency (INFO). Following the excellent results achieved by its predecessor, the 1996-1999 Foreign Trade Promotion Plan, Murcian exports experienced a surge, tripling the €1.286 billion exported when the plan was launched seven years prior. Currently, the objectives are to optimize the internationalization of Murcian companies by incorporating new businesses, diversifying exported products, penetrating new markets, and consolidating existing markets.
Increase the export base, through the aid granted by SPRI
The Society for the Promotion and Industrial Reconversion (SPRI) is the business development agency created by the Basque Government in 1981 to provide support and services to the industrial fabric.
In its international aspect, it offers aid with the aim of increasing the export base, developing the international dimension of Basque companies and promoting the geographical and sectoral diversification of economic and commercial relations with other countries.
The support provided to companies is structured around four main areas of action. The first involves assistance during the initial phase of internationalization, through training and information programs focused on exporting. Secondly, SPRI advises Basque companies on distribution channels, export consortia, and trade fairs, missions, and business meetings. During the implementation phase, support is provided in finding local partners and exploring available financing options. Furthermore, SPRI offers sector-specific studies on international business opportunities and conducts information and training campaigns.
Furthermore, it is worth highlighting Intersarea, an initiative developed by the Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Basque Government, together with SPRI, as a portal to support internationalization, to exchange knowledge or open a forum for debate, among other aspects.
How to start exporting? The answer is in the EXCAL Guide
Excal, Exportaciones de Castilla y León, is a company majority-owned by the Economic Development Agency of Castilla y León (ADE), the Regional Council of Chambers of Commerce, savings banks, and various other institutions within the region. Among its objectives is the promotion of foreign trade, serving as a complementary tool to the ADE's internationalization efforts. To this end, it offers the Export Guide, a resource to support companies from Castilla y León in expanding internationally. The Guide emphasizes the importance of answering key questions before embarking on an internationalization process. These questions include: Am I ready to export? What are my strengths and weaknesses? Can I export? Is my product exportable? Is there a potential market?
Ultimately, it's about offering the preliminary steps that the entrepreneur must take before "getting started".
Why invest in Extremadura?
The Industrial Development Society of Extremadura (SOFIEX) was established to promote the region's economic sectors considered fundamental to achieving greater regional economic development. Its activities are manifested in its shareholding, up to 49%, in newly created companies. It seeks partners and entrepreneurs from the private sector at the regional, national, and international levels who can lead the new project, possessing experience in their sector, financial stability, proven management skills, and mastery of commercial distribution channels.
In short, they attract investment for Extremadura as if it were a joint venture capital company.
Fomento de Extremadura studies projects from all angles, so that all those initiatives of interest to Extremadura can find in this Society the necessary economic support, through the granting of aid and subsidies and the essential advice at any stage of the company's decision to invest in Extremadura.
International Promotion Plan of the Principality of Asturias, in partnership with IDEPA
This is the program planned for the period 2002-2004, implemented by the Government of the Principality of Asturias through the Institute for Economic Development (IDEPA). It establishes the policy to be developed regarding internationalization, with the aim of making the Asturian export sector the driving force behind economic growth and employment in the region. In addition to IDEPA, the Chambers of Commerce and Exportastur are also collaborating on the Plan.
The two intermediate objectives that ultimately lead to the development of a culture of internationalization are embodied in the business objective: "to increase the presence of Asturian companies in international markets" by developing foreign promotion policies; and the institutional objective: "to improve the effectiveness of Asturian foreign promotion policy" by fostering coordination among institutions and optimizing the management of foreign promotion programs. To implement the Plan, a budget of €18,26 million has been allocated, with the expectation of mobilizing an additional €12,65 million from the private sector during the period of validity of the aforementioned Internationalization Program of the Principality of Asturias.
