"We can say that exporting is now structural, although in some companies it remains sporadic."

Interview with Alfredo Bonet, director of international affairs at the Spanish Chamber of Commerce

We recently interviewed the new director of international affairs at the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Alfredo Bonet. After serving as economic advisor to the OECD in Paris, Bonet has returned to Spain to take charge of the department supporting the internationalisation of Spanish companies.

"The internationalization of the Spanish economy is key, it's an absolute necessity, not an option. We must increasingly move towards a productive growth model that allows us to grow and create jobs, and in the 21st century, it must be an international model, more open and integrated into the global economy."

During the interview, the manager expressed his optimism regarding the growth of companies in international markets, mainly due to the economic crisis. He explained that they are still defining activities for a larger group of companies in the areas of training, employment, promotion, etc.

Bonet made it clear that the exporting has ceased to be sporadic to be structural in most cases and hopes that this exit from the crisis will not reduce exports, and will continue as part of the companies' strategy for growth.

"Part of our work as the Spanish Chamber of Commerce is to try to ensure that companies that have gone abroad do not abandon it and stay."

A developed country in the 21st century either develops from an international point of view or it will not develop.
