The producers, who attended under the organization of FEPEX, have managed to strengthen their presence in the Asian market, establish new business contacts and strengthen existing ones.
The fair has become a key platform for Spanish exporters Improve their market knowledge, a fundamental step to increasing export figures. In 2024, Spanish fruit and vegetable exports to Asia reached 55,606 tons, valued at 107 million euros.
The company representatives positively valued the meetings held with Spanish authorities, including Carlos Ossorio, commercial attaché of the Beijing Embassy, the Consul General of Spain in Hong Kong Kong-Macao, Miguel Aguirre de Cárcer, and Francisco Javier Serra, commercial advisor at the Hong Kong office. A delegation from the regional government of Murcia, headed by the Minister of Agriculture, also attended the fair. Sara Rubira Martínez.
The Region of Murcia was the autonomous community with the largest representation, with six exhibitors: Apoexpa, Moyca, Distinet Murcia, Frutas Torero, Itum Grapes and Proexport. For its part, the Valencian Community was represented by Anecoop and The Natural Hand, Extremadura by the Jerte Valley Cooperative Group, and Aragón by Sat Vidrio and Orchardfruit Co.
The group participation, organized by FEPEX, is part of a collaboration agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, whose objective is to promote the quality of Spanish fruit and vegetable products in international marketsThe fair served to highlight the main export products to this continent, such as oranges (16,903 tons), onions (9,685 tons), and persimmons (5.2 million tons).
Despite its potential, the Chinese market remains a challenge. In 2024, exports to China were limited to 3,871 tons, representing only 0.03% of Spain's total exports. However, with growing demand and promotional efforts, these figures are expected to improve in the coming years.
