Prologis to begin development of 80.000 square meters in Catalonia

Leading provider of logistics real estate in Spain

53.500 square meters have been leased to Logiters (ID Logistics) for the construction of a turnkey building and 26.500 square meters will be developed at risk.

Prologis, Inc., global leader in logistics real estate, announces that it will begin the development of 80.000 square meters in La Bisbal del Penedès (Catalonia), Of which 53.500 square meters will be for a turnkey building for Logiters, a Spanish subsidiary of ID Logistics, a leading international operator in the logistics sector dedicated.

 

This particular project will be the largest turnkey development to date developed in Catalonia and the first promotion of Prologue at the Barcelona logistics market 2009 since.

 

The remaining 26.500 square meters will be developed at risk, and are expected to be completed together with the first phase of the building for Logiters in the third quarter of 2017. The 2nd phase of the turnkey building will be delivered in the third quarter of 2018.

 

Both properties represent the expansion of Prologis Park Penedès, a logistics park located in the heart of the region Penedes and next to Barcelona, being one of the most important logistics corridors in Spain, in which currently Prologue It manages more than 180.000 square meters of real estate assets distributed between Prologis Park La Granada, Subirats and the own DC1 in Penedès.

 

 

This particular project will be the largest turnkey development to date in Catalonia and the first Prologis development in the Barcelona logistics market since 2009.

 

 

This new project Prologue It will be developed on a plot of 126.000 square meters, located on the AP2 highway that connects to Barcelona y Madrid and very close to the intersection with the AP7 towards Valencia.

 

The buildings have large areas for truck manoeuvring and parking for light and heavy vehicles. They will also be equipped with LED lighting, which will mean an approximate saving for the user companies of 40 percent in electricity consumption, and the most efficient fire-extinguishing system for this type of building, among other advantages.
