Czech Republic: €61,8 million in European funds to finance a highway

Czech Deputy Finance Minister Zdenek Hrubš signed an agreement on November 10 for the financing of the D8 motorway, which will connect Prague to Ústí nad Labem in the north of the country.
The project, co-financed by the EU through its ISPA program, will facilitate communications between Prague and Dresden, reducing the journey between the Czech capital and the German city by one hour and increasing the safety of the infrastructure.

The new highway will also ease traffic that has been hindering the viability of the road between Lovosice, an important industrial area, and the German border.
